This tutorial will show you how to send emails through a Google group email alias.

1) Open Gmail. Open Settings.

2) Select Accounts and Import. Under the Send mail as section, select Add another email address

3) Enter details.

For Name: Enter the name you want displayed when sending from the email.

For Email Address: Enter the email address of the Google Group you want to send from.

Leave Treat as an alias checked, then click Next Step

4) In the pop-up window, select Send Verification. As long as you are in the group which you are trying to send from, you will have a new email in your personal Quandoo inbox with "Confirmation" in the email title. Copy the confirmation code from the email (9 digits long) and paste it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you did NOT receive a confirmation code email, follow these steps:

a) Open Google Groups, then select My Groups.

b) Select the email you are adding. Under the Settings icon on the right, select Group Settings. (You might have to select Switch Organization View)

c) On the left hand column, choose Permissions > Basic Permissions.

d) In the Post section, change the post settings to "Anyone on the web" then press Save. (You can reset this later to your preference)

e) Now repeat step 4 (select Send verification again)

6) All done! Now when you compose an email, you will see a new "from" section next to "To" "Cc" and "Bcc". There you can choose which email address to send from.
